Week 1 - Introduction

Welcome to my first entry to this exciting blog! My name is Dustin Kochen, and I am a first year student studying a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) / Bachelor of Public Relations and Communications (Human Resource Management). I have moved here from Melbourne (via Texas / Vancouver); and decided to complete this course as a means of being creatively challenged and mentally stimulated on a regular basis; as well as I find myself passionate about Public Relations and Marketing. I am particularly interested in New Communications Technologies as I am always looking to learn new aspects of modern communications and media, and the effects it has on society, as well as societal issues that can arise through 'misuses' of new media, and the ways in which the Media influences and drives particular agendas. Furthermore, I am passionate about creative media, advertising and marketing and how passion in medias drive success, and the ever-changing technological environment and societal shifts toward a 'global village'
